Equine Assisted Therapy can help
What is it? How does it work?
Horses in the wild live in herds of family units, within these herds each horse has a distinct role. As prey animals, they have heightened skills to be able to read the body language and energies of other animals quickly to determine whether friend or foe. As humans we sometimes hide what we are really feeling or thinking, believing that by dressing, acting, behaving or speaking differently we can avoid revealing our true thoughts and emotions. When we are with horses there is no hiding, they have the ability to reflect to us our patterns of behaviour and to draw out exactly what we are thinking and feeling.
Our Equine Assisted Therapy Sessions usually begin outside in the fields with the ponies in their natural herd, as the session progresses we observe the ponies as they instinctively react and respond to what is being expressed. By working with them in a guided interaction they enable us to overcome emotional blockages and begin to help us free ourselves from our problems.
The session may then progress to working to help with communication and connection, where we use obstacles, equipment or poles to help the session progress. A qualified professional guides you at all times so you feel safe & supported throughout your session, expect to gain a valuable insight and a deepened understanding of yourself, feel the benefits of facing your issues & working through them to enjoy a happier life. Once you have fully experienced a true connection with one of our ponies it is something that will never be forgotten.
